Materials: Carmencita acrylic yarn, 6 skeins; Inox crochet hook, size 4mm.
Abbreviations
ch = chain, ss = slip stitch, sc = single crochet,dc = double crochet, hdc = half double crochet, st = stitchrnd = round
Special stitches:
fpdc (front post double crochet) : yarn over (yo), insert hook from front to back and out to the front again, around the post of the dc of the row below, yo and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (yo and draw through 2 loops ) twice.
dc tog (double crochet together): (yo, insert hook on next st, yo and pull up loop, yo and pull up through 2 loops) twice, yo and pull up through remaining 3 loops.
hdc tog (half-double crochet together): yo, (insert hook on next st, yo and pull up a loop) twice, yo and pull up through 4 loops on hook.
Gauge: 4 dc stitches and 2dc rows = 1”
Note: Cap is worked in rounds, joined with ss after each last st. Ch 3 counts as first dc of each round. Crochet in back loops only, except for the fpdc’s.
Cap
Start with ch 4, ss to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 12 sc in ring. (12 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st. (24 sts)
Rnd 3: (Dc in next st, 2 dc in next, dc in next st, dc and fpdc in next st)6 times. (36 sts)
Rnd 4: (Dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next, dc in next 2 sts, dc and fpdc in next st)6 times. (48 sts)

Rnd 21: Ch 1, ss on both loops on the next 62 scs. Fasten off.
Brim
Note: Brim is worked with 2 strands of yarn held together. Ch 2 at beginning of each row does not count as a stitch. Crochet in both loops.
Row 1:, With 2 strands of yarn, join on the last stitch worked on rnd 21. ch 2, hdc on next 7 sts, 2 hdc on next st, hdc on next 19 sts, 2 hdc on next st, hdc on next 7 sts (37 sts). Turn.
Row 2 : ch 2, (hdc tog next 2 sts) twice, hdc on next 14 hdc, 2 hdc on next hdc, hdc on next 14 hdc, (hdc tog 2 sts) twice (34 sts)
Row 3 : ch 2, hdc tog next 2 sts, hdc on next 30 sts, hdc tog last 2 sts (32 sts)
Row 4 : ch 2, (hdc tog next 2 sts) twice, hdc on next 11 sts, 2 hdc on next hdc, hdc on next 12 hdc, (hdc tog 2sts) twice (29 sts)
